ADDIE is one of several instructional design models, used to build learning solutions. In plain language, it's the process I use.
Here is a general idea of what is discussed or happens in each step...
Analyze
Design
Develop
Implement
Evaluate
FUN FACT: As long as I have reliable subject matter experts, I can work in almost any industry, because the process is the same.

It's quite common for a customer to think they have a training need when they are really searching for better forms of communication. At the end of the day, they support one another, and the line between "a communication" and "a training" can be grey.
FUN FACT: I have a Bachelor's in Professional Communications.
No. I am not responsible for the final content in any product I create.
Example: If you give me a PDF (source content for me to write a job aid, a script, etc.), and it says to cut the blue wire, and I create the course and say to cut the blue wire, and then you review the course and give me your stamp of approval, and an employee takes the course, and that employee applies what they learned and cuts the blue wire, and then the machine blows up because they were supposed to cut the yellow wire...see where I'm going?
I have written content and created products for many different subjects, but you are responsible for being or providing a subject matter expert (SME) for the duration of the project.
On the job.

FUN FACT: This isn't really an FAQ, but I feel it's important to emphasize.
